Hip-hop In Class Video

I think that it's sad to see girls in hip-hop videos that are used as objects by men and hip-hop artists. It's even sad that they allow themselves to be on these music videos in the first place. How they wear inappropriate clothing and how the hip-hop artist will talk badly about them or about women in general. I'm sure their number one reason is for the money but there are a lot of other ways that they can make money. They can go to school and get an education. I thought it was interesting that some of the girls in the video that we watched were asked how they felt about hip-hop artists calling women, "hoes." They said: "Oh they weren't talking about me." They were talking about women in general, so they were talking about you. The world and the media is just getting worse as far as what is shown. Women should be more respected and I'm thankful that I learned to respect women. Having grown up with three sisters.

  1. I agree that women need to be more respected as well! It makes me sick to think that there are men treating women like objects. I really want to hire some guy to beat those guys down to let them know what they are doing is wrong and inappropriate! I also despise women that think being in a hip hop video will give them respect and make them feel more attractive to me. I have spoke to a few guys and they all think that those girls that dress slutty aren't hot at all. They are just a piece of trash that is thrown from guy to guy. I wish in some ways we were back in the old days where morals and values mattered to people.

  2. I agree with what you were saying. I think we give forgiveness in certain areas. For example if a black rapper is talking about hoes I dont think that we analyze the wrongness about it the way we do if it were someone such as a polical leader. Obviously a political leader has more responsibility in their words but can you imagine if they got to a microphone and talked about hoes? He might get put in jail! Respect is hard to find these days not just to women but people in general.

  3. I couldn't believe it either. I think it says a lot about our current educational system as well...just let the youth think every girls is a bitch or a ho? There really should be no leeway with this- no apologies for standing up and saying this wrong and things should change.
